Praise You in this storm
Hurricane Harvey has come certainly packing a punch. Destroying many homes and businesses, so far it has only taken 3 or 4 lives. May God be with the families of those people who lost their lives. Harvey has destroyed homes with heavy winds, tornadoes and non stop rain. It has breached our bayous and flooded our homes, cars and businesses. It has brought wildlife into our neighborhoods and even caused a Taxi Driver to rescue a hawk, caring for a most unusual and unheard of passenger. It is times like these that will challenge many people's faith because they will lose their homes, their cars and so much more. It is so easy for us to Praise God when things are going great, but when the storm hits we forget to praise him and even turn angry with him over the catastrophe that has taken place in our lives.
What has amazed me about all of this is the community and how it has come together to help one another. I have heard about how neighbors are going and rescuing neighbors from their homes. The local news airs a story about a families distress and complete strangers poor in with so much compassion and love for their fellow man, that it can help but remind you how great Gods Grace is. Only God could put it on a person's heart to extend their heart, homes and help to their fellow man despite being strangers.
It is events like this that make me proud to be a Houstonian. People set aside their differences, forget about their nationality and remember that human is their only Race and Love is their Religion. If we could have more of this on a daily basis and simply remember to praise God even in the storm, there may be hope for this world after all.
Please be sure to check out all of the great post I have embedded from our local news stations. Be sure to leave me a comment below on how this post and all of these stories impacted you personally. I have also embedded a song by one of my favorite Christian Music Bands "PRAISE YOU IN THIS STORM" by Casting Crowns. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
To all of those who are impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Please stay safe
Be blessed, Stay Strong, Keep the Faith, Never Lose Hope
