NO TIME FOR God
In light of the recent Hurricane to hit the cost of Texas. People are losing their home, cars, belongings and even their lives. I have watched many Facebook Lives during this Hurricane and seen so many comments of people saying. "F" God. Who needs Jesus. Ain't nobody got time for prayer. You think of it and I have probably read it by now. If anything I believe it is quite the opposite.
In situations like this where we are encountering mass flooding all over our beloved city. Restaurants, Businesses and even Hospitals are shut down due to the massive flooding in the Houston area. 911 is flooded with phone calls and people can't even get through. If you need an ambulance to come around for you, they can't pass through the flooded streets, much less can you get hold of them via 911.
If you want to drive yourself to the hospital, you are basically out of luck because every road and major highway in the city is impassable without a boat. People are scared for their lives. In major distress over the loss of their home, cars and personal things. Deeply concerned over loved ones. It only seems fitting to call on God for some help.
Watching neighbor helping neighbor being rescued from near death, it tugs at your heart and makes you realize that only God could put that on someone else's heart to come out of their own free will, volunteer their time away from the safety of their home and family, to come and help their fellow neighbor.
Knowing what is coming and how this could unexpectedly worsen with time over the next few days. I feel God is the only place I have to turn to. Knowing our home could be completely flooded, or a tornado could swoop in and take it all away including my kids.
Definitely before I hit the pillow, soon as I wake up and all throughout the day. I am certainly praying for the victims of Hurricane Harvey, and giving thanks that I still have my children, my mom and this house despite the escalating weather. I pray everyone realizes that we can't do this on our own. Only God can put it on people's hearts to come together and help one another. Only he can move this storm along much quicker. Finally only he can bring out the sun to begin to dry up all of this water and help us to restore life and order back to our beloved city.
